Mineya

Mineya is a small Japanese seafood restaurant. You can get very interesting items that are not found in many other Japanese restaurants e.g. hoya (also known as sea pineapple) and hamo (Daggertooth pike conger). The food is very fresh. As most of the dishes are eaten raw, you can get the real taste ...of the various items. It is run by a husband and wife team. The husband is the chef. Preparation of the hamo requires special skill and he did it with perfection.The wife is a sake sommelier and she is at hand to recommend suitable sake to pair with the various dishes. For our dinner we were served six varieties of sake. Service is great and the staff are very friendly. It is not easy to find this restaurant if you are a tourist. There is no English signage. But if you are taking a taxi, it should not be a problem. It is open for dinner only.
