“Ox-Tongue Specialist in Shibuya ”
Gyutan, or grilled ox-tongue is a specialist cuisine in Japan, created as a dish in post war Japan when the "remaining bits" of the cow could be used. They may also serve a soup at these restaurants which is made from the oz-tail. The queue of customers on chairs outside of this restaurant atop a s...hopping center in Shibuya was 10 long when we got there. But it was a 15 minute wait and we were seated. The restaurant is small with closely spaced tables. They have an English language menu. The signature ingredient is grilled ox-tongue, which is prepared in a number of different sets and variations. I chose a deluxe set with thick specially grilled versions of tongue.

“The best Sendai-style grilled ox-tougue shop”
hv been visiting this shop since Y2k, when this shop has branches in the Sendai area only. Prior to ard 2010 when it established branches in Tokyo, have tried 4 to 5 other Sendai ox-tougue shops, but this is still the best IMO. There are several shops in Tokyo and this shop was setup less than 1yr (...when we visited). Order a set meal which includes 1 ox-tail consomme, 1 appetizer, 1 plate of grilled ox-tougue with cabbages and 1 bowl of rice. itadakimasu :)
