“Excellent Food with an Intimate Atmosphere”
Kappa is a small restaurant slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the area surrounding Shinjuku Station. The restaurant is small and intimate on the inside, making it a relaxing place to dine alone or with a few friends. I first went with a friend and liked it so much that I went back another... evening by myself! The service is quick and the staff are all very friendly. I don't drink alcohol but the wine menu is extensive, so those who do will have plenty of options to choose from. There are also non-alcoholic drink options in the forms of various fruit juices, teas and sodas. The food is authentic Italian and it's all delicious. I had the prosciutto and bread gratin as starters (both excellent) but the real star of the show was the penne gorgonzola cheese sauce pasta with walnut, which was absolutely divine! The sauce was neither too runny or too sticky and the walnut added great texture. I could eat it every day and I'd be very happy. The prices are very reasonable too, making Kappa a great choice for those wanting good quality Italian food in the Shinjuku area.
