“Not too bad, but could be better”
I would never have ventured into an Italian restaurant in Nakajuku, if they had not advertised big on the outside that they were serving "arancini", a sort of Sicilian rice croquette that I'm very fond of. When I sat down, however reality checked in and they told me that it's not on the menu anymor...e. I took a salad with Italian "original" dressing and a chicken liver paste. Both were "kind-of-oook", however the sincere kindness of both the boy and the girl waiters made up for the initial misunderstanding. I must say that the liver-paste was a bit watery (thin) and that they seem not to know that that real taste is made by combining the liver with anchovies and sage, but wel.....can't have everything, uh? The atmosphere was kind of like what you'd expect from a place owner by an Italian immigrant in north-Europe. I have no idea how the pasta or so tastes lik, but I think I'm not that curious....;)

“Good food and ambience”
Had my meals a few times here. I had to go for seafood based as there is no Halal food. Few choices available like the cheese pizza and seafood spagheti, spicy crab spaghetti and fried shrimps. Staff are friendly and can understand English. Place is quite well patronised during lunch and dinner so ...seats may be limited.
“Tasty Italian Food, Friendly Service, in small town Tokyo”
We stumbled onto Pianta in Itabashi after visiting the local children's petty zoo - and I'm so glad that we did. This is a trendy little Italian eatery which clearly pays a great deal of attention to the customer. First, wow, such friendly staff - especially to we "foreigners". They made us feel ...very welcome and then helped explain the menu and check up on our food - they even said goodbye at the door. As for food - quite on target Italian. Japan is known for having quite tasty Italian food - this is not to the high standards you enjoy in centre Tokyo - but it's close. The basics of pizza, spaghettii and salad are all nicely seasoned and cooked, particularly the pizza. Overall, we just really enjoyed our quaint little italian experience in this homey local restaurant on a little side street in a little Tokyo town - what a lovely surprise.
