“Quick Lunch at The Tender House”
We went for a quick lunch at The Tendor House today. It was with some business colleagues. The place is beautiful but was crowded even in weekday. Menu is limited and they don’t have any vegetarian option. The place is noisy with both the clatter of the cutlery and people speaking. But since it was ...a nice sunny day we enjoyed the lunch and the place with full light. You can visit this place if you wish to get a feel of the nice ambience. A little pricy too.

“So disappointed with how unprofessional they were”
Went for dinner. 1) They have grilled food focusing on meat. It’s like a chop house yet they don't have steak knives. We had to use regular blunt knives and struggled. 2) Slow service, servers chatting amongst themselves and laughing. Taking time to tend to guests. 3) No explanation as to what the ...“sommelier recommended wine” is except for that it’s a “Cabernet Sauvignon“. We tried asking, but all the server would say is that it’s stronger than the pinot or merlot they have. d’oh. Not a language issue since all conversations from our side was done by a native Japanese speaker. So basically lack of knowledge or too embarrassed to tell us what the wine is? 4) Ordered one of the several wine-by-the-glass, they brought out glasses on their own and then brought out wine to pour. Pretentious in it’s presentation yet failed to tell us what the wine is let alone show us the label. 5) Mound of salt on a white plate. Was never explained to us, could not see in dim light and someone mistakenly dragged meet through it without noticing. There is more, but I will stop here. The ambience is mid century modern high end dining, with furnishing, interior, presentation done well. A lot of money and effort was put in at the conception stage. However, the quality of service is mediocre at best, and the food is nothing to write home about. Unbalanced in it’s execution and was very disappointed. It’s as if the owners, who were initially excited with the prospect of their sleek restaurant, somehow lost interest and is not putting in any significant effort to make it better. Total waste of money. Would never go back again.

“What a dissapointment”
It should not be too hard to serve a side dish of potatoes in a half empty restaurant. This proved to be impossible tonight. I had high expectations but will never return.

“Decor and Food Are Super, Still Reasonably Priced Lunch”
Lunch with my wife in Shiroganedai. We ordered BLT Sandwich Lunch Meal and Pasta Lunch Meal. Its interior and food are very good, but prices are reasonable. Even cold herbal tea served for free is good.

“Lovely”
We just had lunch here on their covered patio and found it to be most pleasant with very good food and reasonable prices. I had the pasta lunch: pasta with pesto, thin pieces of ham, small Inca potatoes and arugula, very tasty. My husband had a boneless, chicken thigh with mashed potatoes and vegeta...bles. Our meals came with bread, small salad and a demitasse of sweet potato soup and coffee. I had a glass of red wine. Our bill came to $31.00. That the most reasonable meal we’ve had outside of a ramen place. The service was friendly and efficient. The cashier even took the time to stand in the street and hail us a cab, very nice.
