“Cheap but adequate hearty food in a no frills diner”
I think this is the location we went to, next to Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) at Shinjuku Station It's a chain restaurant that serves no frills cheap but solid food. Perfect for the late nighters or jet laggers. You order on the kiosks which prints out the ticket, go inside and grab your seat, also... grab a cup and fill the water yourself. A monitor overhead displays the ticket numbers. When yours is ready they will call out the number overhead, the screen should also show which ones are ready. Go to the counter to pick up your food. My buddy got the beef patty and egg served with rice, egg was cooked perfectly and the beef was good, very hearty. Mine was the grilled mackerel combo with soup, rice and a side of pork. The mackerel lacked the smokiness of a real char grilled fish, other items were adequate. 2 set meals combined for only JPY 1510 (USD 13), what a value!

“SImple, Quick & Inexpensive Meal”
Can get a quick and very affordable Japanese meal in this restaurant. It opens 24-hrs daily. A simple breakfast-set cost only ¥450. You choose your desired meal at the ticket machine by pushing a button for your order. English menu is available on the ticket machine. Like most of the restaurants in ...Tokyo, this restaurant does not accept credit card and payment is by slotting in your cash/coins into the ticket machine. Bring your meal ticket to the table and the waiter/waitress will tell the cook to prepare the meal and then bring it over to you. Shared seating is on first come first serve basis & strangers might be seating just next to you. It took all about 30 mins for me to order and finished my meal - really a fast food outlet with a Japanese touch!

Food good. Service good. Atmosphere good. Everything about this place is good! Love the local feel to it and the fact that it's open 24hrs is even better.
