Fast, inexpensive, and filling in quiet no-nonsense atmosphere. Met expectations. First time dining at Matsuya, after having lived in or visited Zushi for over 35 years. We arrived in Zushi from Haneda Airport after most restaurants had already closed, so we dined at Matsuya. We would do it again (...and probably will) in the same situation. SERVICE: 4.0. No greeting when entering. (1) Order at the easy-to-use vending machine, and sit down at a table with your ticket. (2) An electronic desplay board (in Japanese and English) and an announcement will annouce when each of your ordered items is ready for pickup. (3) Exchange your ticket for your ordered item at the kitchen counter. (4) Sit down and eat. (5) Place your tray and plates at a different counter at the kitchen. (6) Leave. AMBIANCE: 3.0. Fast food, prepared when you order. No Frills. Quiet: No music, no conversation among customers (as most arrive alone and eat quickly), no greetings/goodbyes from store staff. Most customers were male and all (except us) were alone; all ate quickly. FOOD: 3.0. Inexpensive, bland, and unimpressive. Filling and bascially nourishing. Beer available.
