“Our fourth visit ”
We first visited Ume No Hana in Osaka and was amazed by the quality and presentation of food. Since then we visited the Tenjin store three times. We made reservation through a friend, the normal menu is requested in advance, the kids menu is ordered after we arrived. We ordered a set with many cou...rses, all meticulously prepared, the taste of all dishes are so delightful and the presentation is inspiring. We ordered two kids meal (with rice ball, sausage, siu mai dumpling, tempura etc) and the kids loved it. We also enjoyed the hot drink with plum and ginger on the side. The decor of the restaurant is quite tradition and very elegant, some days are very quiet we would whisper, other days there might be bigger parties nearby with chatter and laughter. Last week we were an hour earlier than our reservation time, the staff were very polite and happy to accommodate. Overall a fantastic experience and a nice break from heavy meaty food, and what a treat for the senses!

“A lovely calming experience”
We are budget travelers but what I thought of as a special treat was not expensive considering the cost of a nice lunch in the Seattle area. The unique experience of being in your own tatami room with one server presenting the whole meal was oh so Japanese. The food was good, the presentation formal... and lovely, the price very good and the whole thing zen. You walk into calm from the bustling streets. I wanted this experience once again having done this out in the country in Kuruma 14 years ago! Oh...we are in our 70s so the "stadium" chairs and hole in the floor were welcome!
