Yoshizuka

If you are a fan of Unagi and are visiting Fukuoka, you must visit Yoshizuka Unagiya. We have eaten tons of Unagi in our lifetimes and there is no question this was the best Unagi we've ever had. The outside of the Unagi was crispy while the inside was soft and flavorful. The eel liver soup was deli...cious as well. Service is highly efficient. Although there was about a 30-minute wait for a table at lunchtime, it was well worth it. If the restaurant is very busy, go to the second floor and get a ticket to secure your spot in line. We highly recommend Yoshizuka Unagiya for an Unagi treat!

Very busy, many people waiting. We love eel, they have the best we've ever tasted. We had dinner friday night, liked it so much we went back for lunch on saturday. Dinner friday was tatami style, 8 course, the Ume dinner on their menu. Each dish served with style and an introduction. On saturd...ay we had deluxe Kabayaki, so much eel and rice! You gotta love eel but if you do you are in good company.

Delicious unagi with a comfy tatami setting. Had the unagi-don set. Was simple with very good miso soup but the sauce was the key. It enhanced the umaminess of the dish! Clearly, a must go place visiting Fukuoka!

Yoshizuka Unagiya is a famous restaurant of eel specialty in Fukuoka. It was founded at the beginning of Meiji Time, so it has almost 150 years of history. Even for lunch there is always a long waiting line, and it is the reason why I hadn’t been for a long time. Now due to COVID-19 there are lesser... tourists. So I went again to taste their eel. It was just delicious. Although it is not cheap, it is worth.
