Hakatatempura Takao JOINUS Yokohama

Extremely beautiful tempura with generous portions at a surprisingly fair price. The pieces of tempura come not all at once but as soon as they are cooked, hot and fresh from the kitchen and placed on special stands on your table. I am more used to restaurant prices in London where I would expect ...to pay at least treble what I paid here for food of this high quality.

This is a busy restaurant in the lower level of Joinus Shopping Mall. We had to queue for a table & we were delighted they had a menu in English. A small salad, dipping sauces and rice arrived first. Then the chef brought us a few tempura items at a time as they were hot and ready to be eaten. There... was a pitcher of cold ice tea on the table we could help ourselves from. Service was gracious & excellent.

There is English review below. 目の前で揚げたての天ぷらが次々と運ばれてくる。明太子と漬物は食べ放題だ。 できれば一品づつ来てくれるとビールを飲みながらつまみとなるのだがカウンターだけでなくテーブルもあるため難しいところか。 しかしこのクオリティでこの値段は嬉しい。 味は間違いない。 いい店だ。並んでいるのも納得。 This restaurant is Fukuoka style tenpura Everyone who don't know Fukuoka style are able to have a good tenpura. fresh fried t...enpura which they are hot is the best.

Just had tempura for lunch & now for dinner again. Went at 530pm, was seated right away. Staff were friendly & service was good. Even if you sit at the table, the tempura is served a few pieces at a time tableside as your meal progresses. You can help yourself to the free flow pickled cabbage which... was tasty & fragrant & also the seaweed mixed with mentaiko(spicy cod roe). Both items were excellent appetite enhancers. This place was different in terms of tempura varieties. You can get your usual prawns, fish & vegetables but they also serve you delicious tempura pork slice(those thinly sliced ones used for hotpot), tempura chicken breast meat & whole tempura eel too, of course depending on the set you choose. Can refer to the english menu I've attached. I found that mixing in the seaweed mentaiko with the steamed rice is an awesome way to enhance the already delicious meal. Will definitely patronize this restaurant again.
