YAMABUKI

We chanced upon this restautant by luck. We wanted to dine in Restaurant Flipper but the queue was way too long so we drove around and parked somewhere and found this restaurant! This is by far the best restaurant in Nago serving authentic Japanese cuisine. The lady boss is very polite and engagin...g, always making sure we were having a good time. She also took the time to explain to us the local favorite, and where we can get them. The sashimi is so fresh and so sweet. For the rest of my stay in Okinawa, I went to several different shops to try their sashimi so I could relive that moment but sadly they are not as good as the sashimi in Yamabuki.

What an amazing place for the food 🥘!!!!Everything was delicious 😋 The atmosphere was very good. The people working there are very kind. The owners have a lot of knowledge about cooking. I recommend this place absolutely!!!

Just had our 2nd visit at Yamabuki and we are happy with our food like the way we felt when we first visited it last year. We randomly went in when we were driving to the aquarium and needed some lunch before we headed up north. They have a very easy to understand menu with photos of dishes / sets, ...we placed our order easily though there was only limited english communications. Last week we visited again before we drove to the aquarium again. With limited english they speak, they tried to make an effort to check in our experience, the service isn’t the speedy type so you have to give them clear signal to clear table and bring you your tea or coffee. Price is very reasonable and food is with quality too.

I don’t know whether the chef was absent when cooking the ‘chef set menu’ which is their most expensive menu but by far every single dish seemed tasteless, underwhelming, unbalanced, fishy, and simply not tasty. The service was also lacking where we needed to remind the wait staff to get us more wat...er and the pace between dishes were just not well coordinated and seemed really long for such plain food. This restaurant was a big mistake and I would avoid this place if flavor is an important factor for you. Simply put, the food seemed like they were cooked by untrained person trying to pretend they were something more authentic!

Japanese style restaurant, the owner is incredibly kind and the food is traditional, authentic, delicious, an experience to taste from the first bite to the end! If I'll go back to Okinawa I'll eat there again for sure!
