“Raw Horse Meat”
SUGANOYA offers horse cuisine which they make certain you understand before seating you. This is a nice gesture on their part as I can see being a clueless tourist and not knowing what you are getting into. The food is beautifully presented and carefully prepared. Raw horse is not for everyone but I... recommend giving it a try.

“Pricey, but worth it!”
If you want to experience horse meat, the delicacy of Kumamoto, you want to do it here, as they prepare it sashimi, sushi or even barbecue style. A little steep, but if this is a once in a lifetime experience, (or not) you won't go wrong here.

“Had horse meat sashimi here. Good service.”
This is near where our hotel is and we were looking to try out horse meat since this is something that Kumamoto is famous for. This place has excellent service, but can be quite pricey. We had the shabu set and it cost about Y16,000. Tasted pretty much like beef. Won't be able to tell the quality as... it was the first time (and probably my last time) trying.
