“Best Steak and Beer experience in Kagoshima”
On a 1st time visit to Kagoshima, I ate 2 times at Steak Ann Hoten. Rather than go to the Gourmet Street branch, I went to the Amu Plaza branch (5th Floor restaurant level, above the department store with the Ferris wheel at JR Kagoshima station where the Shinkansen arrives. ( Formal address: 1-...1 Chuomachi, Kagoshima City Amu Plaza Kagoshima 5F). Food: expect to have the best steak you have had in a long time. Kagoshima prefecture produces some of the best beef in Japan - the Japanese Black (Kuroge Washu). I tried the beef spare ribs on one night and on the next visit tried the 200g Wagyu beef. Prices were very reasonable - about ¥2000 - 3000 for a full set. See the amazing pictures. Crew: There were different teams on the two nights. I sat at the bar on both occasions and saw the team in action handling the orders, grilling the steaks and meticulously cleaning up. Expect service from a well-trained team of young chefs and servers. They went out of their way to be friendly, explain their food (trying out their best English) and create a wonderful dining experience.

“Good food excellent service”
We were walking around the area and found good reviews in Trip Advisor. We tried the lunch set for 1280 yen (soup, salad, steak, rice and dessert or coffee). The food was really good, the service great and to see the chef a whole experience. I Would really recommend this place :)
