Nikaku

Amazing sushi at Edomaezushi Nikaku! Definitely worthy of his 2 michelin stars. Restaurant is located away from Kitakyushu city. Didn't stop us from going, we caught bus route 27/28 - took around 15-20 mins. Restaurant has only 8 seats at the counter. Very nice interior, wood counter benches were i...mmaculate. Chef spoke small amounts of english, but tried very hard to engage and interact with us which is always appreciated. Now to the sushi, just so fresh, so much flavour and you can tell he has put a lot of work into pairing things with the fish that elevated the sushi to another level. We can definitely taste and experience the difference between a 1 and 2 star michelin sushi restaurant. Chef gave us a small souvenir (Kitakyushu seaweed) when we finished up for the night which was very nice of him. Highly recommend Nikaku!
