“Home from home”
I wandered into the Raphael on my first night in Kagoshima and received a warm welcome. This is the sort of bar you would like to have near your home. The staff and the clientele (almost exclusively local) are extremely friendly and tolerant of an aging Anglo-Saxon who speaks no Japanese. They have... a good selection of wines and beer, some tasty snacks to go with the drinks, interesting liqueurs and cocktails. So I went back every evening of my stay in Kagoshima. I wish there was a bar like this everywhere.
