“Horse meat on the menu!”

Feeling adventurous? There's horse meat on the menu! What more can I say? They call it Sakura Meat and it's delicious! Make sure you ask for the Japanese Sakura meat. The meat I had was from near Aso mountains and not the cheap Canadian version. There was also a great dish of fish heads. If you feel... even more adventurous (and capable of downing hot food), try Karashi Renkon or boiled lotus root stuffed with mustard and miso! This is HOT and a local izakaya favorite!
