“Not it.”
The pancakes are so hyped up that I definitely had to go and try some myself. However, I was mildly disappointed by the service and the taste of the pancakes. The waitress was rude and acted like I was crazy for ordering on the table. I did not know that they only take orders inside on the counter (...apparently they had explained to the Japanese couple in front of me, but welp, I am not Japanese and so I did not know, nor was I told). I had the plain ones and the pancakes smelled of raw egg, there was nothing masking the smell, e.g. vanilla or any other essence. There were also bits of dough that were not completely mixed and I could taste the powdery balls on my tongue. The good thing about them was the texture, yes they were fluffy as any other Japanese pancakes but I think lots of other places on the island do a better job in taste for sure. Given the prices of these babies, one would expect a higher quality. I would advise you not to go to this place, it is not worth the drive. If you want to go for the view, it's free, just walk along the terrace.

“Plain is the Best (Visit in Oct 2019)”
We tasted 3 types of flavors (Happy Pancake; hot Chocolate and Granola; and the limited edition pumpkin flavor), we preferred the “Happy Pancake” - plain flavor the most. Arriving at 11a.m on a weekday, the waiting time was half an hour for us which was really not too bad a wait. All we needed to d...o was to write down our name and the number of people in our group on the waiting list outside the cafe. Then study the menu and decide what we wanted to order and wait for the staff to take our order while waiting for our turn to be seated. The seats indoors are really limited, around maybe 10 or less tables. There is also an outdoor patio kind of seating for those who wants to enjoy the sea view / sea breeze....etc But we were feeling the heat at around noon hence chose to be seated indoors. The staff takes our orders while we were in the queue so that we need not wait overly long for the pancakes. There was also a time limit of 1.5hrs for dine in. We topped up to make our order into a set which includes a drink (juice) for a very reasonable price and were happy with that decision. Service, cleanliness and taste was reasonable.

“One of the busier restaurants around the area”
The Umikaji Terrace was a pretty neat place to come to see planes take off and land, and the picturesque sea view. My wife and I settled on this cafe, as it was highly recommended and was pretty crowded with tourists (even with the Covid 19 situation). Service was okay although the food was a little... pricey and wasn't very impressive. The cafe one level below which provided hammocks was also pretty interesting from the outside.

“Soft ass pancake”
forking great pancakes, a bit of a wait, but forking worth it, it faces the sea so you can get your waiting ticket and just walk around a bit then come back and wait for another bit. Tried the blueberry pancake and milk tea pancake, orgasmic.

“Long line for pancakes”
Even though it is raining there are still a long line waiting to savour their well known pancakes, which comes with many different toppings. Their kitchen has a see through glass window thus you can watch the cooks making the pancakes. The kitchen runs like a production plant and it is quite nice to... watch while waiting in line.
