Kalbi Daio

In my opinion, this is the best Yakiniku restaurant in Okinawa. They are open for dinner only. There are plenty of parking spaces available, but it does get busy as the evening progresses. Being an Izakaya, it's a place to eat and drink with coworkers, family and friends. The atmosphere is very warm... and cozy, with very nice open ceilings and wooden architecture. This is an order by touch-screen / all-you-can-eat / gas-barbecue-at-your-own-table restaurant (for those not familiar with the term "yakiniku"). The wait-staff will deliver your orders in a timely manner. They have an impressive menu to include some great salads (3 of our favorites are the Caesar, Daicon and Tomato). They have some nice raw vegetables and mushrooms to grill along with the various meats and large leaves of fresh lettuce you can use to make mini-burrito-style-wraps. Their kimuchi selections are pretty good as well. Add in the self serve soft drinks and ice cream, and you have the perfect package. You will be allowed 90 minutes from the time of your first order. Our bellies are usually full in half that time. Even though it's a bit of a drive from our house, we tend to go there once every few months... and also for special occasions. I wouldn't consider this restaurant expensive, but it's not cheap. Overall, it is a great value for quality, quantity, atmosphere and service. We hope you like Yakiniku Izakaya Kalbi Daioh as much as we do!
