I have been to numerous beef restaurants throughout Japan. We had fantastic experience throughout except here. We ordered the sirloin set and the teppanyaki set. The former was fine except that one of the portion of the steak was full of fat not trimmed. Never mind I thought. But then we were served... 2 teppanyaki sets and the quality of beet was hard and terrible. Clearly it was not the same meat. We did not sat at the teppanyaki table so we did not see them prepare the beef. But suffice to say it was not Imari beef as advertised. Complains were met with an indifferent shrug. If it was at a quality place the Chef would have immediately apologised and came back with a fresh plate. But this place did not even acknowledge their fault. All in all it was a very bad and disappointing experience. I think they pick at us because we were foreigners. This is one of the rare instance when I was Super pissed and disappointed by their attitude. I don’t recommend this place at all especially to foreigners.

Came her for lunch to try the Imari beef and was not disappointed at all. The beef was so tender and delicious. It didn't need any sauce, but I tried the lemon sauce and onion sauce that they placed on the table. Loved both of them! They also had a counter area where they cook in front of you. It w...as full when we got there though.

It was very quiet on a Sunday night, so we didn't have to reserve a table. We decide to sit at a table, not at the counter - for teppanyaki. The male table attendant was friendly and enjoyed chatting with us, explaining everything well. The menu we received was only in Japanese, with a few pictures... ... so, I don't think they have an English menu. The Oxtail soup was excellent with a deep, subtle taste and a big chunk of tender meat - almost a meal in itself. Each main meal is served with soup (a smaller version on the oxtail soup) and rice or bread. The portions of beef were very good and thick; and they were slightly over-cooked - we had asked for "medium-rare", but there was no blood, so it was more like "medium". Each steak was served with a few cooked veggies on the side (could have been a little more) and a small piece of deep-fried banana, which was interesting (it wasn't sweet, at all). The local Saga rice was also a little dry but, that's typical of such places ... you come here to eat beef, not rice. Imari beef has quite a simple taste as compared to Hida; Omi or Yonezawa Beef ... but, it was still thick and succulent. I'm glad we tried it ...
