“Best sukiyaki, memorable meal.”
On our last night in Tokyo, my family was looking for a restaurant that serves sukiyaki- one of my father's favorite dishes. When we walked into Ima-asa, a distinguished gentleman at the counter told us the restaurant was full because the waitstaff had to attend to several private parties. I asked i...f he knew of any places nearby that served sukiyaki, because we really wanted sukiyaki, and to our delight, he accommodated us (stating only that it would take extra time because of the fully booked waitstaff). To our surprise, he then personally cooked our sukiyaki for us at our table, watching the sauce simmer, and cooking the vegetables, tofu, and meat, serving each of us piece by piece- and every bite was exquisite! We realized after he had seated us he was actually the fifth generation owner of the restaurant. We were grateful he went out of his way to accommodate and share his craft and tradition with a family looking for sukiyaki on a cold winter night. It was truly a meal to remember. It was also the best sukiyaki my father ever had, and a perfect last meal for our trip.

“Meal to dream about”
I was extremely fortunate to be taken out to this restaurant. From the warm greeting of the 9th generation owner, Akira Fujimora to a most incredible meal that included very thick well marbled beef for the Sukiyaki, beef sashimi, blow fish, etc.,,, excellent friendly service and such a great atmosp...here for connecting with your fellow dining companions as we did. I've had some excellent dining experiences but this one just made the top of the heap.

“Superb sukiyaki”
Every once in a while we get a pleasant surprise in our lives. Today was such day. We just walked into this sukiyaki place by chance. Did not research it. Well we had probaly the best sukiyaki ever. It is as simple as that. The meat and the sauce is almost unbelievably tasty. The big menu set is jus...t right. Service is very efficient and friendly. Most staff speaks English although limited. It has been established in 1880. It shows. Loved every bite.
