“Very Pricey”
Izuei is well known for their very pricey Unagi (grilled eels). My friend booked a table for two for our lunch. We had to take off our shoes in order to go up into a Japanese tatami floored room. We sat at a low table with low chairs. Unagi was rather small and ‘o-suimono’(clear soup) was served... in a tiny cup. Unagi was light flavoured in comparison to the ones in Narita.

上野公園の中にあり、景色を楽しみながら、ゆったりと美味しい鰻を頂くことができます。季節ごとに味わいがあります。とてもおすすめです。 Located in Ueno Park, looking out beautiful trees from the window, feeling the season, enjoy delicious eel - Unagi. Attentive service, really nice :)

“Quality traditional Japanese food with staff dressed traditionally”
The food was very good. The staff was on the whole very kind although a couple of individuals were very frustrated with our inability to speak Japanese and our need to have vegetarian food for one of our sons. It is on the more expensive side, but the expense is worth the experience.

“Very surprising restaurant in ueno park”
We have been in this restaurant because starving in ueno park. At the first impact we realized it was expensive and clients were all Asian/ Japanese. Indeed with pleasant wonder we had a super lunch with eel, sushi tempura and stuffed vegetables in a real Japanese style served by kimono dressed wait...resses and having a beautiful view on the hardest zen style ! Really suggested

“Good food, great ambience ”
I went here last summer with my friend. We thought the price was vey pricey, but we entered the restaurant anyway. We chose to sit at the outdoor side, the ambience was really great, I love it! There are only 3 tables on that side. When we came the other 2 table are already filled, one with Italian ...family and the other with 2 Japanese men (which later I know one of the man is the owner of the restaurant) Me and my friend ordered simplest bento on the menu. But then we ended up trying other menu. All of the foods are so tasty, I really love the food with unagi (I forget the name). The tempura also very delicious, the sashimi very fresh and really good too! Highly recomended place to eat around Ueno Park! 😊😊
