“Perfect lunch during rainy day at Ginza”
We were strolling around Ginza under the rain, then we decide to have lunch before we go shopping and the choice is to have a tempura for the lunch as it will not too ‘heavy’ for our stomach. We got to Ippoh Tempura Restaurant at it was very nice and cozy place. Although the preparation took some t...ime, but the taste were perfect. The food were fresh, fried perfectly in front of us and it was like a cooking theatre for us.

“Excellent tempura”
On the fifth floor of an office building. (Not unusual in Tokyo.) Tempura doesn’t come any better than this. Owner was a great chef and host. Multi-generational restaurant in Osaka. This is a sister property.

“Great tempura with Masaru san!”
Run by 2nd generation Masaru Seki builds upon the solid reputation of the founder who still runs the original Osaka main branch. Great service and impecably prepared light fluffy ebi, fish and vege tempura with a choice of either sauce or salt dip. Well worth a visit!

“Tempura at its Best”
Ippoh is a small tempura bar that is run by Masura SEKI, a third generation Tempura chef whose family originates from Osaka. While I am not sure if it is called "omakase", it is similar to sushi in that the diner does not order but instead allows the chef to select exceptional seafood, meat and vege...tables that will be fried delicately and served with the appropriate horseradish or ponzu sauce. The food is exceptional, but pricey and the setting is a small restaurant in an upper floor of the building where Barneys New York is located. Reservations are a must.
