The maguro zuke-don (マグロの漬け丼), or maguro don for short, as well as other sashimi rice bowls, are fresh and of good quality, and reasonably priced, starting from about 600 yen (after tax). The menu offers a variety of toppings and extras, such as miso soup, tororo (grated yam), shirasu (tiny, tiny f...ish), and kim chee, most of them for about a hundred yen. I think of these seafood rice bowls as precursors to the poke bowls that have become popular in the U.S. Only, these are more traditional, the flavor based in shoyu and wasabi. Tea is complimentary; alcoholic drinks are about 300 yen in the daytime. An interesting touch, I thought, was the inclusion of small servings of udon. The menu presents it as a finisher for when you want to eat just a little bit more; cost is ¥190 after tax. There's much more on the menu besides sashimi rice bowls. This place excels in grilled seafood that cooks at the table in front of you. More expensive than the rice bowls, though. Dinner, as one might expect, is also going to be more expensive than lunch. I'm not sure if this place has smoking/non-smoking sections. At lunch, it's never been an issue for me because I hardly see anyone lighting up, but when I went for dinner last year it was kind of smoky, which I prefer to avoid. I'm not sure what the situation is now, though. I guess the most important information I can offer about this establishment is that I've eaten cooked and raw seafood here a number of times and have never gotten sick. And the staff is nice.

Visited this restaurant at 7pm. There weren't too many people at the time. We ordered a big bowl of seafood shell to be grilled, as well as crab miso and octopus. It took quite a while to cook the shells, but they were very fresh. The tuna jaw was also amazing. My favorite was the crab miso.

I took my first dinner in Tokyo at this restaurant with some of my friends, we ordered many seafood for bbq, sashimi and also sushi, all tasted very good, the price not expensive at all! We also ordered Japanese beer, the beer were fresh and cold and we all had a great night!
