Walk down the steps from backstreet Shibuya and be transported to a small Japanese village complete with streams, bridges and flora! This Izakaya is not to be missed. We sat on the floor Japanese style and enjoyed typical Japanese fare – my boyfriend ate “the best” sashimi he’d ever tried and barbeq...ued ox tongue which he also enjoyed. For vegetarians there’s edamame, tempura, deep-fried cheese sticks, tofu (but watch for dashi(fish stock)) and rice. They serve icy cold draft beer in chilled ceramic mugs too which was the cherry on top of a great dinner.

This traditional Japanese restaurant gives one all one wishes for. With their own little stream running through the restaurant separating the tables from the more traditional tatami seats, the atmosphere couldn't be more authentic. Complemented by excellent service this is definitely one of my favor...ite places. Everything on the menu tastes great, but definitely don't forget to order まぐろのカブト焼き (grilled tuna jaw) - tastes great and is suitable for non-experienced fish eaters too. The tempura is also more then recommendable.
