“A quick tempura shot”
Excellent little tempura restaurant. We came in at the end of their day and quickly ordered from the Hana and Matsu sets. Food was good, the service was a little rushed, but then it was close to their closing time

“Our Favourite Tempura restaurant in Shinjuku”
Every visit for us to Tokyo isn’t complete without a visit to Funabashiya Honten. We went here twice on our latest trip. It didn’t disappoint, seated at the counter you can watch the chefs work their magic on super fresh seafood and vegetables. It is open from late morning right through to dinner so... pop in at off times to get a seat straight away. Lunch is cheaper than dinner, menu in photo is dinner menu, but it’s all great value for the quality of tempura. Love it and will be back next time.

“Great tempura place”
This is a tempura restaurant with a long history. The overall experience was enjoyable. Get a seat at the counter and you can see the action firsthand and they serve the tempura on a piece by piece basis when you order the set menu. Good experience but just a little pricey.

“Excellent tempura restaurant ”
Wonderful tempura restaurant. Lovely crispy batter and good value at 2000 for the starter set. Also have a vegetarian option which was great. Great service as well. Highly recommended.

“My favourite Tempura Restaurant in Tokyo”
Been here a few times. Think this is better than the popular Tempura restuarant across the street. The ingredients are fresh and fried right in front of you. Do request for counter seat. Be prepared to smell of tempura after you left the restaurant.
