“Oh dear !”
We were a captive audience here due the Typhoon, we couldn’t venture outside the hotel so had no choice but to eat here. Food was ok but portions are tiny. And prices are quite high unfortunately. The staff was very kind and did their best but unsurprisingly the restaurant is virtually empty every e...vening ( when no Typhoon) Plenty of other restaurants nearby.

“Breakfast”
Taste good but no change during my stay, suggest to change a few items every other day to make the guest feel fresh

“Japanese and Western breakfast ”
We stayed at the Sunroute Hotel for 4 nights and our room rate included buffet breakfast. Breakfast included both Japanese and Western options. My wife really enjoyed the Japanese options. Unfortunately the breakfast options were exactly the same for every of the 4 days we stayed at this hotel. Th...is should be changed for longer staying guests. Western options included sausages, eggs, bacon although not crispy, bread & pastries, pancakes, fruit, yogurt and freshly brewed coffee. Breakfast offered a great start to the day.

“Solid Breakfast, But Not Over The Top”
I think if you are tired and don't want to venture out of the hotel, this is a good option. They offer at least five types of breads (e.g. Toast, croissants, rolls, raisin rolls, etc.), pancakes, porridge, rice, and fruit to name some items. Right across the street are three cafes, and at the end o...f the block is a McDonald's. This is a solid restaurant, just nothing to write home about.

“Chef doesn’t understand ‘Gluten Free’ ! ”
I have never experienced an evening like this before in an International hotel. The staff didn’t understand when I asked for something gluten free - several of them were talking together. They usually say they will speak to the chef but instead the waiter pretended to understand and I ordered the ...pork without soy sauce and some rice as I thought that would be simple. My husband ordered a pizza. Another waitress brought the pizza with two plates . We asked what the two plates were for and she looked at us blankly. She obviously thought we were sharing the pizza! About 10 minutes after the waiter brought mine - a piece of pork on its own and said they didn’t have any rice! I then asked to speak to the chef and the manager came over too who didn’t speak any English so a young girl interpreted for him. By this time both meals were cold but they didn’t offer to replace them so we asked for another pizza at the same time as mine. Eventually the chef said I could have risotto but this wasn’t offered in the first place. Anyway I have never seen anything like it for a main meal - it was a tiny portion of cheese risotto in the middle of a bowl - nothing else with it - no vegetables or mushrooms etc! I ate half and then we left and the manager, Mr Takagi, said nothing and didn’t offer any discount for the total mix up. He just let the young girl on the desk deal with it so we just paid her and left. I can’t believe no one could understand what gluten free is. I am coeliac and therefore am intolerant to it. Very disappointing evening and very stressful.
