“Excellent grilled fish”
As mentioned on various sites this sake speciality restaurant has excellent fish. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable and the prices are modest. It's definitely a cut above the franchise Japanese izakaya restaurants one sees across Tokyo.

“excellent restaurant-izakaya in Kagurazaka”
I've been several times at Seigetsu and I've always been delighted. The location is great and easy to find, along the main road, a 10mins walk from Iidabashi station and around 10mins from Kagurazaka station. The staff is courteous and efficient and some of them can speak a bit of english, I thin...k. There's different seating : at the counter, in some more or less private tables and also on tatami mats. But what's more important is the wood and drink list : huge, everchanging according to the best finds of the day. For food : Seigetsu has always excellent fresh fish and seafood, in sashimi, tataki, perfectly grilled, etc. I had some of the best fish of the city there, like the seasonal grilled ayu, tasty katsuo, excellent buri neck, etc. Good vegetables and meats too, copious and very tasty gohan (rices or noodles). For drinks : an amazing selection of fine nihon-shu (sake), pretty rare. And what's great : the staff is very generous in servings. Watch out, though : the endless and versatile daily menu is in japanese characters and you might have trouble with it if you don't read/speak japanese. Service stops a bit before the last train in general, but the robatayaki (grill) last order is earlier. In week-ends, it could be necesary to make a reservation.
