“Good mapo tofu!”
We walked through Chinatown and decided to try here, they speak very limited English here so we did a bunch of pointing to the menu. The mapo tofu was yummy but make sure to order rice with it, it is very rich. We also ordered the salt and pepper pork chops that was also very good. Service was a bit... slow, but it was good after so much walking around the town.

“Yummy Sichuan goodness!! As good as China’s, or even better”
Came here with some friends for lunch. I hope you rethink about the not genuine negative reviews of this place as this is probably one of the better Sichuan food I have had. It’s quite clear cut that they haven’t actually tried Sichuan food... We had the Sichuan style mapo tofu which was excellent ...- the ingredients were fresh, very fresh soft tofu. The spiciness was actually toned down for local’s flavours. It does have a bit of pepper tingling at the end and it is NORMAL. If you don’t like it then order the one without chilli. Having a layer of oil is NORMAL too as part of Sichuan food diet. In fact they did reduce a lot to look and taste healthier and less spicy. Actual Sichuan would mean it numbs completely, so spicy you won’t be able to eat. If you don’t want things like that then don’t eat Sichuan food?! It’s sad to see the reviews dragging this place down just because they don’t know what Sichuan food is. We also had the chilli fish where the portion isn’t as huge as what you get in China but pretty authentic! La zi ji (Sichuan mala chicken) usually comes without bones but I guess people from diff region cooks differently and we found it to be okay. A lil spicy but very nice! There is nothing on the table that wasn’t tasty and the spiciness level was fine for us. If you don’t like spicy then don’t eat here, or ask for no chilli / less chilli. Sichuan food is meant to be very spicy. Service was normal, nothing to complain just typical Chinese restaurant. The staffs were able to converse in Chinese which made it easier for us to order.

“May be Japan is not a place for Chinese food?”
Looks like I am a first foreigner to review this place. I was in Yokohama famed Chinatown and decided it is time to try the local specialty. Until that point I could honestly say that I've never had a bad meal in Japan. This was about to change. Sichuan cuisine is generally spicy, hot and somewha...t oily. I've tried it in US and China and enjoyed their food quite a bit. The local rendition, however, was just wrong. It was not particularly spicy, but food was drowning and overflowing in heavy oil. The signature dish - Mapo doufu - contained about half a plate of oil, the rest being the dish. Frog legs were overfried, dry and still soaked in oil. Price was pretty darn high, as with most restaurants in Yokohama Chinatown. If you are a visitor to Japan - do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Better yet - avoid Yokohama Chinatown food, it seems to be a foreign product not designed to be authentic.
