“Tokyo Shinjuku Tempura Restaurant, TENDON”
The tempura here has a crispy coating and doesn't feel sticky at all. You can taste the true taste of tempura. The ingredients are fresh and you can enjoy it all the way down to the tail. Besides, the rice is delicious. In Japan, deliciously cooked rice is described as having grains of rice standin...g up, and that's exactly what happens here. The amount of sauce is perfect and does not interfere with the ingredients. The price is exceptional, and I am grateful to be able to enjoy the taste of a high-class restaurant at such a low price. “Tempura Perfection”
We absolutely loved this place. Not only were the staff friendly and inviting but the tempura was perfect. Sitting at the counter watching the chef prepare your food right in front of you is something else. It was so good we are going back again.

“Great tempura....”
Had read good things about this place and it didn't disappoint. Bar seating directly opposite the Chef so got to watch our lunch being cooked. Everything we had was great and excellent value. Limited English by the staff but not a problem .

“Best Kushi Tempura in Shinjuku!”
Good authentic tempura usually come with a rather large bill but this place isn't. Dandanya is first of its kind in Tokyo. Not only their skewered tempura (each morsel is served on a stick) are perfectly cooked by experienced chefs but their menu system is simple yet makes a lot of sense depending o...n your budget. Start with the first course which comes with a chef's choice of 5 skewers. And once you complete the first course you can move up to the following courses (there are 5 different courses with a total of 17 different skewers), each level comes with 3 skewers with different ingredients. We had up to the 2nd course, 8 skewers total (1,780yen) and ordered some side dishes and quickly filled up our stomach. With couple of drinks, our bill came to less than 5,000yen and we ordered A LOT. Seating arrangement is all bar seating with high bar stools and foods served on a counter top so you'll have to sit sideways but if you have a small group or wanting to have a quick bite, seating isn't an issue.
