“Geijin Welcoming, and great experience”
The experience is most notable as I only have very basic Japanese vocabulary for eating and drinking. They provided an English menu and my server was able to understand all my requests, but at one point when I was trying to select individual Nigiri, the chef suddenly spoke to me in perfect English ...confirming my order and repeating to the server. From there we discussed his trips to the USA, time in Singapore, and about Sushi and Japan in general. The discussion was great, and as common I enjoyed watching him artfully work through all of the orders. The Food, was excellent! We started with a sashimi bowl with Tuna and Red Snapper, both are from the waters around Japan, and while I have yet to have bad sashimi in Japan, the flavor, texture and portion was perfect. Clearly Tsubaki knows how to select well and prepare perfectly. Next we had a large sushi set that included Choo-toro (Fatty tuna). The shimp, scallop and fish was all excellent, but the choo-toro was incredible. Of course finishing with the egg-cake was excellent, it had perfect balance of sweetness. Me and my friend finished with Prawn tempura, perfectly salted, and I highly recommend eating the head of the prawn as the insides have a great flavor! I think the price was very reasonable, as the location is right near the West Station exit (convenient), the quality of the food was very high, and the staff had high expertise. All my food was less then $40 per person, and the drinks were better price then the drinks I had other nights. The drinks were flowing, and restaurant had a good cycle of customers come through but the staff were attentive and my evening really was a blast. This kind of experience makes me certain I will return for dinner on my future business trips through Japan. I know that when I arrive, I will receive a warm welcome and enjoy catching up with my new friend. Location Note: Bottom floor under Mister Donut, entrance is left of Mister Donut in the Alley between buildings. Happy Eating

“Nice lunch spot”
The entrance is a little steps downstairs which we would have missed it if our local guide did not tell us. Lunch is sushi with rice menu which is nice and simple. We love that sushi is fresh and the rice is very nice. Price is not expensive and staff are nice.

“Excellent service, great food and nice atmosphere”
Although the sushi bar is located at basement level, it is very convenient for tourist because it is within 1 minute walk from Ikebukuro station. Very easy to locate the restaurant. The ambience was good, it is full house when we came in and we were seated at the counter table, good view to look at... the chefs preparing our dishes. Spoke to the boss, Ishii-san and he is very friendly to us, explaining all the food in details, and making sure that the staff's service given to us is perfect. I would recommend this sushi bar for everyone that wants to have a fresh sashimi serving, and to dine at a cozy atmosphere with your loved ones. 👍🏻👍🏻
