Tamaya

This is a true kaiseki restaurant. It preserves the art form, the order and the ambiance associated with kaiseki-style Japanese cuisine. The dishes are beautifully arranged, and the flavors make one pause and enjoy the moment. While in Japan recently I dined at another kaiseki restaurant, one wit...h more history, but it did not compare with Tamaya. The food is rather expensive by itself, but pairing the dishes with good sake makes it even more expensive. In this case the experience is worth the price. Tamaya features private tatami rooms with combined indoor and outdoor seating. Note that this Tamaya is in Kita-Urawa.
