“The Wagyu Ribeye We Had Did Not Taste Like A True Wagyu Beef”
We went there for the supposed top quality 250g Wagyu ribeye. The waiter told us that "this is not their second quality A5 beef". We were terribly disappointed: the Wagyu was leathery and not tasted like Wagyu we had before. There were no characteristic of the Wagyu marbles nor the taste. Our US Co...stco bought ribeye would be more tender than this. A week later today, we had a Hida Wagyu ribeye in Takayama. Compare what we had today, we firmly believe that we did not have the Wagyu steak at this restaurant.

“Great service really good food; prices seemed high for what you got”
The food was very good, but with the price of about 10000 each (about US$65 or so at this writing) for the meal, the portions and amount of food you got seemed small. (i was still hungry after the set menu). You cannot go to Tokyo without having Sushi of vcourse....and a Wagyu (or Kobe) steak meal.... Fortunately there was one next to our hotel and it was rated pretty good so we gave it a shot The food was fantastic and service terrific. We ordered the A5 Wagyu. It was like butter. Truly just melted in my mouth with flavor i have never experienced before from any steak (including so called American Wagyu beef I have had at home). We got the 150 gram size…which is about 5.5 oz..or a typical filet mignon at home. But the wagyu has so much fat that it shrinks.. So it was a bit small. The taste however was amazing…although the high fat ...which is what its all about and gives all the flavor...did affect my stomach later (guess I am getting old) so I am glad I did not get a bigger steak……but it was worth it. I got their Wagyu sirloin steak course which had the 150 gm A5 steak, appetizers, salad, garlic toast and dessert. Still, I was a tad hungry when I left. My wife went a la carte and was also hungry. Note: when we sat down, the set menu menus were on the table. Since I had looked on line before going, i knew they had a la carte, sandwiches and other items. The a la carte menu was not apparent until I asked and the waiter pointed it out kind of hidden in what looked like ads for other items. I think they push you to the set menus. Overall I was very pleased with the experience, both the food, presentation and service. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area..but remember you may walk away hungry.
