Ko-No-Hana Nihonryorikonohana

Konohana is a traditional Japanese restaurant, located in Yokohama Bay Sheraton, in Kanagawa prefecture. This restaurant serves authentic Japanese food, fresh and delightfully cooked dishes. One thing that amazed me is that every plate they serve has a symbol or a story to tell. What can I say. The ...Japanese people are very artistic when it comes to their food preparation. The food they serve are truly amazing, small portions, but with a multitude of flavors. Kinda pricey though, but you won't regret it! Overall we enjoyed our dinner fine dining indeed!

We ate here with Japanese friends and had a marvelous 7-course meal saizen lunch. The setting overlooks a pretty Japanese landscaped garden. Each course is comprised of seasonal items of primarily seafood and ocean plants, and vegetables. The meal was finished off with sweets and macha tea. Alth...ough the portions were small, the entire lunch was filling. The wait staff was kimono-clad young women who provided exceptional service. There was no rush what-so-ever to turn the tables. All-in-all, a great meal in a very elegant atmosphere.

Hotel is in good location and I've stayed here many times, but customer service is often poor. Example, they absolutely will not let you check in before 3pm, on one occasion I tried to check in 2.50pm and they to,d me to take a seat as check in was 3pm. On the critical side, most rooms are "compact"... even if booking for 2 people you will often find the bed barelly large enough to accommodate a couple. Breakfast in hotel is very good, but on the expensive side, there are other breakfast choices close by hotel offering better value

Can't believe it, well I can! Went to get a poached egg this morning at breakfast and they wanted to charge an extra fee for the service of poaching an egg! This hotel takes every penny/yen from westerners they can. Over rated, pretentious and tired hotel..living on location location location, Oh an...d wedding!
