“Fresh!”
We intentionally had a late lunch to skip the line, but we still waited (under 10 minutes). We had read that the food here is great and the reviewers were right! They had the freshest seafood! Serving size is good too.

“Surprisingly good!”
We didn't plan to eat on the island of Enoshima, but fate would have it that the restaurant we planned to eat at was closed so we ended up looking for lunch on the narrow street leading up to the entrance to all the attractions on the island. The first thing about this place that caught my eyes was ...the cheesy display of their dishes-- You know, the plasticky fake type that can often be found outside a small eatery all over Japan. To be honest, I wasn't impressed by the display. However, there's a fair amount of people waiting to eat here, so we decided to get in line and give this place a try. What a great decision that was. My kids had the kids meal served on a boat. For 750 yen, I think that's the best bang for the buck for a kid's meal EVER. It included two shrimp tempura, fries, a bowl of shirasu don (white rice topped with their signature boiled shirasu), a medley of fried seafood, shrimp chips, and something else I can no longer remember. Anyway, the portion was huge and judging by the way my kids wolfed them down, I'd say they were very delicious. I ordered a fried seafood don. Again, the potion was big enough for two (actually, the two ladies sitting next to us shared one order of the same dish), and the seafood was perfectly fried. The only complaints I have with this place are: 1. The restroom could use a serious cleaning. 2. They take cash only. I didn't have enough cash on me. Fortunately, there's an ATM hidden inside a tiny post office just a few houses up the hill.

“Boiled Shirasu Bowl”
I had lunch with my wife and younger son at this famous and popular Shirasu (young sardines) restaurant. I had Boiled Shirasu Bowl and Fishhead Soup. This or other restaurant, you should not miss one of Shirasu dishes when you are in Enoshima.
