Wain-no Sakaba Deipunto Yokosukachuo

I came here with a friend, I was immediately impressed by everyone greeting us with a ‘hola’ as we walked in. The ambience is neat and everyone seemed to be having a great time. The food can be great or not great. We ordered the crab pasta, carbonara, mozzarella di bufala, and mussels. Our neighbor...s orders the angus beef, which looked amazing and we wished we had ordered. The carbonara and mozzarella were pretty good, although if you are expecting genuine Italian flavor, you may be disappointed. The mozzarella had a great flavor and so did the tomatoes and pesto, although the inside was a bit sticky versus the typical springy texture. I would stay away from the seafood. The mussels and crab pasta had a strong fishy flavor. For those who are used to the great taste of fresh seafood, this can be off putting. If you are used to Red Lobster quality seafood, you may enjoy it. There are many menu options, as typical for a tapas establishment, portions are small, so I would order 2 or 3 dishes each. Prices are reasonable, given that many ingredients are imported. We also ordered the crema catalana, which was okay, albeit frozen. They had a great variety of alcoholic drinks, which we were unable to take advantage of. We will definitely return to try other items in the menu. All in all, we were glad we came.

My wife and I have been here several times. The atmosphere is great. The service is consistently outstanding. The first time was just for some wine. The wine is good, but the pours are on the small side. The cheeses and cured meats are great. The pastas are good. Avoid the pizza. They are smaller th...an you’d expect. I ordered one with butter on it thinking they would melt some butter on it, but it actually has blocks of butter on the pizza. Not what I was expecting. Not sure who would eat butter this way other than young kids. The pizza was good otherwise, but small.

The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is because of the smoking in the restaurant - it is so awful to sit and try to enjoy a meal with everyone smoking around you. Otherwise, the food was absolutely amazing. We went with friends and ordered many different items on the menu and everything was... absolutely delicious. The cabbage salad was so flavorful, the smoked potato salad was delicious, the cheese platter from Hokkaido was phenomenal, and my favorite - the Gorgonzola pizza with honey - delicious! Don't know why this place doesn't have more ratings - go, it's a must try!

I only stopped by for a few glasses of wine but it seems like this place has a pretty good selection of italian appetizers. The ambiance is cool. Many foreigners seem to go there.
