My wife loves Okonomi Yaki so toi find this within a short distance of our hotel was a great result. The place was empty when we arrived but very quickly filled up with locals, we were definitely the only tourists. We were given menus in english, if you are looking for vegetarians they can cater for... you and I think also vegans. We ere seated near the hot plate so saw our food prepared evben then we were not ready for thge HUGE portion. Very friendly staff, and very efficient, my wife dropped a chop stick, but they were offering a fresh setbefore she could finish bending to pick it up. Great food and good value for money. strongly recommend a visit.

Vegetarian okonomiyaki was wonderful. A great way for those with dietary restrictions to enjoy okonomiyaki. My wife and I enjoyed this restaurant very much.

This is a great restaurant in Shinjuku. It’s a little walk from the main section of Shinjuku, being located on a small side street They offer menus in English and speak a little English as well. Menu was large but offered Okonomiyaki in various forms which was decent Prices were ok Alcohol wa...s offered in various forms We were happy with the service Overall would recommend

Delicious restaurant for vegetarians/vegans/meat eaters! Staff was helpful and knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. Separate menus for vegetarians and vegans. English translations for everything which was very helpful. One of our favorite restaurants so far!

We visited Zen in March 2022, arriving right at 1700 when it opened. It's located on a side street off the main street, I think 305?? It's small and cozy. We received a warm and friendly greeting by a young man who spoke to us in his best English. He wasn't proficient, but between his limited Eng...lish, our limited Japanese, and the English menu, we were able to establish that we were pescatarians and he wrote down our preferences. We had never had okonomiyaki so it was an adventure. You order sides separately and they bring them as they are prepared, and once your okonomiyaki is cooked, they bring it to the table. We could see them making the okonomiyaki at the grill. IT WAS SO GOOD! It taste like a vegetable pancake with hints of fish and sweet potato. They customize the okonomiyaki to your culinary preferences. We took ours with shrimp and no mayo on top. Highly recommended! Friendly staff. Quaint environment and most of all, good food at a good price point.
