Lumine Ikebukuro building is located diagonally from Hotel Metropolitan, practically next to the Ikebukuro station. On the 8th floor there is a collection of restaurants which are clean, bright, airy and attractively decorated. Convenient when you are shopping in that area. We ate at 8E which does... not have a western name. Highly recommended for the variety, presentation, service and affordable pricing.

The restaurant is on the 9th floor of Lumine in Ikebukuro in the area they call "Buffet Collection" Obviously there are several different menus, but the one we take often is the one with pork meat, vegetables (including Tofu and noodles), rice, rice toppings as well as soft ice cream, all of these ...a volonte for approximately 1500 yens for lunch. (Time limited to 70 minutes) The prices increase on holidays and in the evenings. So, better go there on week days and before 16H00, after which they will apply evening tariffs even on week days. You can have Shabushabu and Sukiyaki at the same time, and for Shabushabu you can choose broth among 3 different kinds. The restaurant is clean and there is enough space to sit, which is not so obvious in cheap restaurants. This is one of the places we visit at our every visit to Tokyo.
