“Quaint little restaurant”
Love this little restaurant tucked away underground at Tsukiji Outer Market. Serves quality seafood rice bowls. They offer english menu. Prices are reasonable, food is delicious. The restaurant is small with counter and table seatings.

“Swanky bar and amazing sushi”
My boyfriend and I were trying to find dinner one night and happened to stumble upon Zan’s. We were skeptical at first with it being underground and whatnot. But it being located underground adds to its charm and mysticism. They were the only ones in that market that sold wagyu beef sushi, which I h...ighly recommend. The staff was so nice and the second night we went the waiter had actually translated part of the menu for us! Amazing service and I recommend everyone to try, Zan’s!!

“Seafood wasn't fresh and terrible service”
This restaurant is located at the bottom of a long staircase and we almost didn't enter because it looked dark and was quite far away from all the other touristy restaurants. The guy who brought us there (they were heavily advertising at the main market area) was quite pushy and kept encouraging us ...to try so we decided to give it a shot. Alas, we should have just walked away. I ordered the #1 seafood bowl which consisted of a few different types of sashimi, egg and a prawn. They served me something completely different (actually it was #5 on their english menu). I informed the waiter that they served me the wrong dish but he insisted that it was what I ordered. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! The waiter was saying that the customer didn't know what she ordered? I repeatedly again that I definitely ordered #1 and again, he insisted that I did not order that. At this point, he went over to the chef that was standing right in front of us (we were sitting at the counter seats), had a small discussion and brought a small bowl of ikura (salmon roe) in an attempt to appease me. What a joke. The seafood don that I ordered had at least a few more pieces of sashimi and they were trying to blow me off by giving me a miserable tiny bowl of ikura. At this point, I was so frustrated that I raised my voice and told him that I ordered #1 and I only wanted #1. I was also fully prepared to leave as my partner's meal had not been served. He finally took away the wrong order and gave it to the chef. I waited for another 15mins before the correct dish was placed in front of me. Sadly, the fish did not taste fresh and the salmon tasted chewy. The scallop was also tasteless. We did not finish our food and decided to leave. This was one of the worst places we have ever eaten in Japan.
