“Warm and Welcoming - nice to hide out with a good strong coffee”

Liked this place - was just around the corner from our hotel and we went for breakfast. I had the toast and jam and the Paulista coffee which was strong but good. Came with a salad and refill of coffee which was nice. Husband had the toasted sandwich - again with salad and a refill coffee. Its h...as an older style which is relaxing.

Lovely spot to cool off and get a bite to eat in Tokyo. Beautiful café that looks like it still has the original decor - which is a good thing! Great iced coffee and a prawn salad. Excellent value as well.

“Charming, Historic, and Delicious”

We found this place as a result of it being the oldest operating coffee house in Ginza and it was really interesting to learn about its history and the overall history of coffee in Tokyo and Ginza specifically. The service is immaculate. They’re all dressed so nicely and are so helpful. We ordered... their featured to share and pancakes each (go with the strawberry pancakes!!!) and then I also tried their 100 year anniversary blend (it was perfect for balancing the sweetness of the pancakes). We were able to communicate fine without speaking Japanese. The atmosphere was really lovely. We went on a rainy day and there was no wait.

“Good speciality coffee in a place with history”

Reviewed 27/Feb/2025

Visited this due to the history, it is the oldest coffee shop in Tokyo (1911) and it has seen its share of famous people apparently. Very busy and you may need to queue. It operates on two floors. The downstairs area has the more traditional feel. The food is good. I enjoyed the shrimp salad with b...agel. I don't usually enjoy a bagel but this was good. The "Sachertorte" isn't the original however is rather delicious. The speciality coffees are worth trying and are worth the difference in price. Wait staff are friendly and helpful. As always a little Japanese from a traveller goes a long way.
