“Terrible buffet in fine hotel”
Terrible buffet breakfast for such a nice hotel . Cold eggs , a few versions of boiled sausages , canned fruit, 2 cheeses and a few dry plain breads , stale pastries . If you think a buffet in a motel 6 or best western then maybe you would be close . I hate to give a bad review because I have be...en coming here now for 20 years on my business trips and something has definitely changed after COVID Avoid this if you can but if there is no other option ask for a window seat so you can enjoy the garden and politely say you will wait until one is available. There appears to be a better buffet in the same hotel but at the far end but I did not risk it twice and can not recommend it

“Nice breakfast buffet with a great view of the New Otani Garden”
The buffet has lots of choices, both Japanese and Western. The quality is very good and is nicely presented. You will be greeted like someone special and the service is very good. You can enjoy a very nice view of the New Otani's beautiful garden. If you are not an early riser, the buffet can be... very crowded. Should try this buffet as well as the Tower Buffet in the Garden Tower.

“Great views but crowded”
It’s a large popular place for people who want to be at the otani without staying there. It has long queues as mainly ladies throng there in the morning and spend long hours at the tables overlooking the beautiful, gardens. They are rather fastidious that residents complete their breakfast by 10 am s...o that they are ready for the coffee and early lunch crowds. The style here is quite impeccable and tea is served in the traditional English styles. Attendant savouries can be ordered. I felt somewhat guilty sticking to our window side table for long while people waited for seats

“Room with a view (to die for)”
We had our breakfast here most days (we stayed for a week). To be honest I don't really rate the breakfast buffet and it can be a bit of a scrum around 9.30am. There is an alternate breakfast venue in the new wing tower. Some of the hot dishes were only warm and not really attractive. For some reaso...n simple fried eggs are not on offer. When I tried to assemble a Japanese breakfast several key ingredients were also not available - for example tofu. We focused on fresh fruits, muesli and pastries. Now comes my main complaint - all the staff are obsessed with the ten o'clock deadline for the buffet. From the moment you arrive they are forever warning of it's impending arrival (all the while checking their watches) and it is so strictly enforced as to be quite rude. I was even refused a top-up of my teapot as 'the time had passed' but I still had a plate of pastries to finish. Now for the good bit! The view of the Japanese garden from the window seats is my favorite view in all of Tokyo - maybe Japan. My wife and I walked round that garden on our wedding night 30 years ago and we have never forgotten the experience. I agree with those reviewers who found the food expensive and overpriced for what it is. That said, we simply had to return and you must go too...
