“Lots of fun to eat here!”
Muten Kura Sushi is so much fun and has the greatest marketing ploy ever to make kids eat! Whether you speak Japanese or English, you can easily eat here. Most everything is mechanized. When you walk in get a number from the machine. It will have an iPad and it will ask you how many in your party. ...Once your number is called, you will be seated and you will then interact with screens rather than people. There is macha powder and a tap to make your own green tea, and an iPad to order from that can display in English or Japanese. You can choose right from the lower belt or you can order from the screen and your order will zip down a high speed belt above the lower belt. Make sure to only take your sushi and not the people's sushi who are seated on the other side of the belt! A comic drawing of a waitress will appear on your screen when it is yours. Here is the genius marketing ploy: there is a little shute at your table for the plates. It counts them and puts then on your bill but it also holds a little contest for every five plates and you have a chance of wining a small prize. Kids eat up to try to win a prize! My party ate enough in two visits to win three prizes (odds are every 500 people!) but the absurd amount of sushi we stuffed ourselves with is probably not a good thing to brag about! Last thing: this is super affordable but like all Japanese food, very fresh, very good. Its a chain so there are more locations than this one.
