“Focus on Terrines great idea”
Ishimaru our waiter was very good at his job. Humble and kind. He understood my wife’s allergy issues. They allowed us to come for lunch instead of dinner. We started with Amuse Bouche of sweet corn. It was delicious with a creaminess. I wanted a complete side order. Unfortunately could not do that.... The terrine of fresh scallop and artichoke was just that. Very fresh and tasted great. My wife had the terrine of salad nicoise with confit of swordfish. It also had egg and potatoes and tiny yellow and red tomatoes and red onions. Very refreshing. Next was roasted lamb chops, smoked dauphinoise/ butter Montpellier and mushrooms. Sautéed fish and scallop soup de poisson rouille source/ cabbage. I have to add that the service is so refreshing in that Ishimaru is so calm and helpful. He is classy without any pretensions. If you ask for it they serve Maldon sea salt from Wales. Cream of clam soup with clams and octopus a version of clam chowder with seaweed basil and olive oil. Absolutely scrumptious. The food is great, it is not trying to be something it is not. No heavy handedness The wines by the glass have been really good both vintage and food friendly. The white was a Kreidenweiss Kritt Pinot Blanc 2017. Perfect with the courses. The red was Santenay Premier Cru Les Passetemps 2007 from Charles Noellat Heritage. Perfect time to drink. Nice fruit and no ruff edges. Just delicious. Chef Naoki Matsuzawa is very talented and his flavor combinations are wonderful. Perfect with wine. Especially the French Santenay. It is obvious that they focus on great wines with their food. They know what they are doing and doing a great job of it. This is a must stop on any trip to Tokyo. An absolute fabulous meal. If this were home in LA I would come once a week at least. This is a winner.

“Nice French Restaurant in Shibuya”
This small restaurant in Shibuya is specialized in terrines. The restaurant has a nice ambience, good service in English, but pricey. There are 2 set menus of JPY 4700 and 7200 JPY, with exquisite food but the dishes as small. I decided to take the 7 course menu and my wife the 5 course and we enj...oyed a lot. We also ordered the set of 3 wines by glass to combine with the food. Perfect combination for the food!!!! If you looking for something different and special this is the place.

“Terrine place”
It's a stone throw distance from Shibuya Station on the railway although it's all but impossible to find for the fist time visitor. It's a small place, therefore there isn't big space between tables except you're set on one table on the window, by far the best place. They claim terrine is their spec...iality. I went there not so convinced of their claim but it turned out pretty good. We took a set menu at 10 k yens with two choices of Terrine. The portion of terrine was average for a French place. On the other hand, the main meet dish, I found, was tiny. Over all, we were satisfied for food. Service was courteous but It felt a bit like they wanted to serve first to finish work early (we were late diners). Worth visiting once.
