“Russian food in Tokyo”
A Russian restaurant in Kichijoji. Located on the basement floor of a building on the same block of Kichijoji station’s north exit. They claim their food is authentic Russian food but it’s not much so. But at least it was good. You can drink Baltika beer, something I recommend for its smooth mild f...lavor.

“Fantastic experience”
I was curious to try a Russian restaurant in the middle of Tokyo. We really enjoyed ourselves. The food was very fresh and tasty, vodka very cold and the staff (привет Eugene!) super friendly. Highly recommended

“Georgian dishes”
As the last time I could have only Russian lunch, this time I tried Georgian Dinner. I had reserved a seat but seats were half full. Except Ukha(Russian fish soup) which was ordered instead of sold out Georgian Kharcho , we tried Georgian dishes only. Same as lunch time, some were good and some were... just average. As this is not a classy restaurant but rather a family type bistro, this is normal and the prices were inexpensive compared to those in Shinjyuku, Ginza. As they have other Russian menu, I might try again. According to a Russian waiter, all the cooks and waiters/waitreses were from ex U.S.S.R. such as Kirghistan, Georgia, Russia etc. Including alcohol, two of us paid about US$110(dishes,alcohol 50/50). We had tabaka, Georgian roast chicken and 5 other dishes(please see photo attached).

“Cost Effective but a little bit noisy”
I arrived there at 1 p.m.but the seats were full and waited for 30 minutes. To my surprise, all the guests except myself were either middled aged or elderly women(12 tables for two) and I felt like being in a bird cage. I felt sorry for the restaurant staffs. My intention was to taste a Russian Lunch...(only Russian is available for lunch set menu) before coming again to taste Georgian dinner(there is no restaurant in Tokyo ony for Georgian dishes but some Russian restaurants like Cafe Russia do make both Russian and Georgian.) as I had never eaten Georgian dishes. Anyway US$8.40 lunch set is reasonable and I thought some dishes were good and some were not so. All the kitchen staffs and an waitress seemed to be Russian and they speak Japanese.

“Back to the USSR”
Back to the USSR. I can not really say more than that to describe the serving staff attitude. Stone made faces never knew a smile. They didn't bother to ask if we enjoyed the food, they didn't respond to our "thank you", they didn't talk, they didn't smile. I have no idea why they seem to be so unh...appy. Whether they hate the job so much, or whether they are working for free... There must be something very unfortunate in their life's anyway. Food was so, so and extremely salty. I felt so embarrassed to invite my husband there. I never said it before. But today I felt ashamed to share same nationality with those unhappy gloomy ladies. Welcome to my Black List cafe Russia.
