“This meal was incredible ”
The restaurant has an amazing kitchen and talented staff working in it. They made me feel very welcome and went out of their way to translate the components into English for me. I spent two and a half hours there and it went by without me noticing how long I’d been there. Amazing, amazing, food wi...th extreme care and attention taken to the preparation and plating. I will happily come back again.

“Secluded Kappo Restaurant with Michelin Star”
You will definitely not noticed this restaurant, nor be interested if you passed by unless its with intention to find it. Shigeyoshi is a 2 Michelin Star Kappo Restaurant. My husband and I were there for lunch and we were the only diners. The restaurant is the traditional style Japanese restaurant. ...Nothing fancy, which I would use to describe the food too. Very light cooking style with lots of dashi and fresh ingredients.

“Slightly disappointing”
The food here was not as good as its two Michelin stars would suggest. Despite having the premium menu none of the dishes were particularly memorable, although the sea urchin was very tasty. Not only did the chef not attempt to communicate at all, but despite my polite greetings (in Japanese), even ...on leaving he managed to avoid all eye contact. I was the only guest, which added to the slight discomfort (although I am comfortable eating in Japanese restaurants). An older gentleman present (the owner? father?) was very friendly, however, and looked up some names of certain kinds of fish/dishes for me. To clarify, this was in no way a bad meal, it just did not live up to my expectations, as compared with other restaurants of this nature in Tokyo.

“Perfect lunch”
We took the lunch here and everything was great. The food (6-7 courses) was mainly seafood (fish, clams). It was my first experience with a Michelin starred restaurant and we were amazed by the quality of the dishes served. Money well spent here, in my opinion.

“Amazing ... as usual”
If the restaurant itself does not boast any striking architecture and is pretty sobre, dining at Shigeyoshi is always an invitation to good tatse and refinement. The Chef keeps an eye on his crew and is very friendly with all customers. The course menu comes in a variety of traditional japanese cuis...ine using only the best quality products and cooked in a very simple way but perfectly executed.
