“Gyu Shige a dishonest restaurant”

Reviewed 03/Dec/2024

This definitely not for those not speaking Japanese restaurants. They will add more items discreetly into yr order n No cancellations. We, 2 adults n 1 kid, order 3 plate of beef (¥ 600- 900) n 2 drinks. So kid need more rice n we order xtra white rice through their ipad, online system. There after... come 1 bowl rice n 1 big plate mixed beef meat! We ask the waiter and waitress we didn’t order that mixed beef plate ( ¥ 7980). They show us the online order that we had order and No cancellations. (The online had a double confirmation button before u confirmed) so that’s impossible we had ordered! Anyway, since they insist No cancellations, we request to change the beef tongue to beef or chicken or pork. Our request was No,No and No. Both Waiter and Waitress is rather unfriendly. As I read some comments that they r Chinese workers or can speak Chinese, they just ignored our conversation in Chinese or English. Especially the male waiter is rather rude. Anything u request or ask he just finger point. Anyway, we feel got scammed by this restaurant, never ever will patronise this Shinjuku restaurant. Pls ask the waiter or waitress to order for u instead of yrself. Eat at yr own risk

“Our go-to place for cheap and enjoyable Yakiniku”

We always return to Gyushige when in Tokyo. This is not a place that will serve you Matsusaka beef or anything of the sort, but it is simple and good yakiniku, the coal fired kind, and the prices are very low compared to the high-end chains. They have an english menu, albeit they might not speak ...the language as fluently. The set menus will give you a nice introduction, and is great value for money. We also enjoy the hot stone Bibimbap with the meal. Beware that smoking is allowed, although it has rarely been a problem for us.

We had the most fun, we chose the family assortment, the wagyu beef was divine. Watch the chicken, it cooks quickly lol. Make sure if you like whiskey...try the highball..oh yeah they are good! If you are expecting lots of vegetables...or a vegetarian, give the place a miss haha.
