“Best Chinese Cuisine in Town”
Growing up on a Chinese centric food ( Vancouver), I have not been overly impressed by the Chinese cuisine in Japan. Both Yokohama and Kobe have large Chinatowns but generally speaking the offerings lack authenticity. Living and working in Daikanyama, I have enjoyed great meals at Bimi, especially t...heir DimSum. I am now happy to announce that a new great Chinese place has recently moved to the neighbourhood. Long Fang recently relocated to Daikanyama from Takarazuka, near Kobe. Their loss is our great gain. Lunch is packed so go early since they don't accept reservations for lunch. I usually have their TanTan Noodle set. ( without the meat) It is served with a few appetisers and dessert for about 1600 yen. Reservations are accepted for dinner - which I highly recommend. Some days are slow but on occasion the place is totally packed so it's better to play it safe. The dinner set menu for Y3000 is excellent value. I am not a meat eater so they are very flexible in changing dishes around to suit the diner's preferences. One of my favourite dishes is the MapoTofu without the minced meat. Their custom blend of Doubanjiang spice along with the Sichaun peppers are perfect. Same goes for their daily seasonal vegetables. If available try the Gai Lan. Always steamed to perfection and then instantly sautéed in garlic, I have this dish 2 or 3 times a week. Located a few minutes away from Daikanyama station, Long Fang's exotic flavours and super staff make this establishment a great dining experience
