“Excellent sushi experience. Next level stuff this is.”
One of the best sushi I’ve tasted by far. Master chef at work is a joy to watch. He doesn’t speak other Languages apart from Japanese but that doesn’t stop him from trying to communicate via a male helper who speaks perfect English. We had omakase with several otsumami. To me all the dishes were gre...at and each had its own uniqueness, but if I had to call out, I’d say the yam, sea urchin and seagrass combination was out of this world. The crunchiness, sweetness, freshness was complimented well by the gelatinous seagrass texture, which I’ve never had it anywhere else before. Each sushi that master chef put in front of you, might seem simple enough, but believe me, behind the scene, all the materials have been prepared to excellent standard, served at its optimal when is put in front of you. As for the sushi, my partner loved the jack mackerel and the fatty tuna, whilst for me the squid sushi stood out most. Actually they all are great. Would love to return if and when we visit Tokyo again in the future. Because Sushi Fukumoto is well reviewed on google and Tripadvisor, naturally a lot of foreigners would visit. I myself am also foreigners visiting but I do hope that foreigners are able to treat the staff and master chef with more respect, for example when the food/drink are handed over, to greet the staff with thank you or even arigato, or if they are filming or taking photos to kindly ask for permission first before doing so. Not that master chef mind I think, but is just polite/nice to have the mutual respect. Just because you are paying customers doesn’t meant you left your manners behind.

“Great meal at a relaxing 1* sushi restaurant”
The sushi restaurant is one of those "rare" ones that can accommodate children - so that was good for us with 2 teenage kids in tow. The location is slightly outside Tokyo city centre and reservation was easily done via OpenTable about 1 month before the dinner. The atmosphere was relaxing here and ...the food was excellent as per expected - I was especially happy with the aoyagi clam that I ordered an additional piece after the course. Totally recommended!

“Memorable but affordable ”
We loved our experience here, so much that I recommend it to all my friend who are going to Tokyo. The omakase was great, I had some of the best sushi I’ve had here, even compared to other sushi places with michelin stars. The hokigai haunts me to this day. Plus, it was very affordable considering t...he quality of the food and the hospitality. Fukumoto-san and his staff were very welcoming and friendly despite the language barrier. They had handwritten folder with the information for each dish and its origin region, which they seemed genuinely eager to explain. The meal was great, as an omakase the dishes were approachable, fresh and expertly made. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Tokyo.

“Super cool dinner on 30th June”
It was super hard for foreigner to find this place, because it is located on the basement and only be seen by the small sight in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is very small, and the chef was old artisan and strictly focused. We have go through an amazing sushi experience for that night. HI...ghly recommended.

“Simply Incredible”
The best omakase experience I have ever encountered. There was a unique balance of unpretentiousness with lazer focused attention to detail and amazing food, which was a pleasure to experience. The restaurant, whilst 'Japanese' was incredibly welcoming to foreigners with an english speaking waiter... telling us about the food we were about to eat. the setting was calm and relaxed and felt like you were in somebodies home. the food was breathtaking.....we left full, incredibly satisfied, with the only downside being that it all seemed to go by too fast I am certainly looking forward to my next visit.....
