Notokanazawa-no Sachi Ginza Furuta

This place is a well-hidden gem - it doesn't easily come up on Google Maps or on TripAdvisor. I randomly stumbled upon it just walking down the street from my hotel and thought it looked interesting, and that was well before I even realised it had a Michelin star. Overall, I would say this is exa...ctly the kind of restaurant that it's worth coming to Tokyo (and Japan) for: amazing and authentic Japanese food without the hype. The chef had amazing attention to detail, the set menu (the mid-priced of the three options) was very well-balanced, and both the food and the service were awesome. Best of all, even with plentiful sake my Michelin-starred dinner cost less than the average meal in Sydney these days :) (A$146 to be precise, and I thought the meal was worth every $$.) Highly recommended if you want to experience a "real" Japanese restaurant!
