So I visited this restaurant since it was in the neighbourhood of the place I stayed. As a side note it's on the Michelin Guide - Bib Gourmand list. The food I ordered that day was really tasteful and since I didn't know to read Japanese I had some problems reading the vending machine labels (they'r...e only in Japanese). I figured it out and ordered the correct dish I wanted. So if you're in the neighbourhood it's a good place to try.

I am so lucky to have this place in my neighbourhood. Having tried many ramen-ya over the years I have to say this is probably the best ramen I have had in Japan. Seriously, I would recommend any visitor to Tokyo to make the trek out to here if they happen to be visiting Shinjuku or Ikebukero. For... me I have family here and I feel incredibly privileged to have this place on my doorstep. I've never been a fan of Shoyu ramen but the one here is incredible. The ingredients are fresh, and the soup base is excellent. The food was so good here I ordered the Tan Tan Mien too. Amazing. Delicious. The owner runs this as a one man operation and it's in a low key neighbourhood. The opening hours are not long and there's always a line. Get their early to ensure he doesn't run out of stock. This is the best kept ramen secret in Japan.
