Kanmeihou

Visited for lunch with two friends. We ordered the Mapo Tofu set from the "Business Course" lunch menu, which offers great value. Since we came after the midday rush, the restaurant was pleasantly uncrowded and we were able to dine at a relaxed pace. The food lived up to our expectations — the Mapo ...Tofu had a perfectly balanced spiciness with a natural, authentic flavor. You can tell this is genuine Chinese cuisine that relies on quality ingredients rather than artificial seasonings. One piece of interesting history worth mentioning: this restaurant was formerly located in Akasaka, Minato ward. Back in the day, there was a hugely popular Japanese TV show called "Iron Chef," where chefs competed in cooking battles. The chef of this restaurant once defeated the renowned Chinese cuisine Iron Chef, Chen Kenichi — a testament to the outstanding culinary skill behind this kitchen.

We went there for our celebration party. A private room was available. Cause we tend to focus on drinking, we rather did not order course menu; but they do have a course menu and if you choose the menu, all you can drink was also available. The draft beer was cold enough to get started, and enjoyed ...shaoxing wine. They do have a variety of a la carte menu. It was quite a relaxing time in Ginza.
